Bladnoch proudly holds its place as the world’s oldest privately owned Scotch whisky distillery, with a heritage dating back to 1817. From its founding by John and Thomas McClelland on the banks of the River Bladnoch, the distillery has endured and evolved — once earning the title “Queen of the Lowlands” for its excellence and scale.
At its peak, the distillery operated six washbacks and produced over 230,000 liters of spirit annually, guided through generations of McClelland stewardship. Today, this rich legacy continues under the expert direction of Master Distiller Dr. Nick Savage, who joined Bladnoch in 2019 after a distinguished tenure at The Macallan. With his dual connection to both Scottish roots and Australian experience, Nick brings a unique vision to Bladnoch’s modern renaissance.
“The Bladnoch team’s unwavering commitment to unparalleled quality is what makes me incredibly thrilled to contribute to the extraordinary future of Bladnoch Distillery.” — Dr. Nick Savage
The Bladnoch 30 Year Old represents the apex of the distillery’s craft — the most mature expression in its modern portfolio. Aged in a rare combination of Oloroso Sherry and Moscatel casks, this whisky was drawn from just two exceptional casks, resulting in an exclusive release of only 950 bottles.
This remarkable single malt opens with fragrant notes of dried apricots, delicate florals, and nutmeg, enriched by vibrant Seville orange zest. The palate unfolds with layers of almonds and marzipan, lifted by the brightness of citrus. The finish is refined and unexpectedly light — floral and fruity with a whisper of cracked black pepper.
